1000 Miles

This weekend we did 1000 miles travelling to perform at different events.

First our visit to Penarth near Cardiff, Wales were we played for the Manchester City football players of the Premier League, while they were having a private dinner at the exclusive restaurant in the Marina.

On Saturday we travelled to Liverpool to play at Anna & Paul’s wedding at a Hallmark Hotel. Finally on Sunday we drove south to the beautiful Dorset, to play at Gabriela & Adam’s wedding in a beautiful countryside setting with a nice Tipi.

Now I need a relaxed Monday to recover from all the driving!

Los Amigos trio at SEAT launch

Los Amigos trio were invited to perform at the launch of the new SEAT Ateca in Coventry.

SEAT enters the SUV market with a well made and beautiful car. The event generated a lot of expectation and the attendees were eager to get their hands on the new features and technology. All that while Los Amigos performed a set of Spanish music in the background, SEAT cars are made and designed in Barcelona, just like our singer Javier!

We leave you some photos of the event.

Molly & Harry’s Birthday party

This was a wonderful birthday party for Molly & Harry, who organised a Rio Olympics themed party, with guests dress up with Brazilian and Team GB outfits!

We headed to the lovely Somerset, a wonderful family farm, where various tents, lovely catering, a disco, and a cocktail van was awaiting. Although the weather wasn’t great, it was a warm evening, and it didn’t damp the mood for a great party, lots of dancing with Los Amigos trio, wonderful food & cocktails, and a wonderful day altogether.

Paul & Teresa Wedding Anniversary 14/8/16

A lovely summer day in the beautiful coastal town of Rottingdean, near Brighton, and Los Amigos Trio were perfect for this event, a relaxed afternoon Wedding Anniversary, outdoors, champagne, canapés and lovely hosts Paul & Teresa and their friends. A fantastic day to add to their memories.

Lily & Gonzalo 6/8/16

Lovely wedding in the Gloucester countryside, where a big marquee was set up, and a great Argentinian BBQ made the delight of the guests.

The feedback of the couple:
“Dear Mark,

Just a quick note to say an ENORMOUS thank you to both you and Javier and his team for providing the most fantastic music at our wedding on Saturday.

You have been incredibly professional to deal with, and the band did not disappoint. They were incredible, and everybody loved them. So many people asked where they were from, so I hope you will get some further bookings as a result. They really did provide the perfect music for our wedding, and we could not have asked for a better time. As you can see from the photos below, everybody had a good time!

We would like to send them something personally by means of a little thank you – are you able to provide a forwarding address please?

Thank you,

Lily and Gonzalo

Live at Regent Street

Every Sunday of July the famous and beautiful Regent Street in London is free of traffic, and they are celebrating the summer with lots of live music. Los Amigos were invited to play last Sunday and it was a lovely hot day, where the pedestrians enjoyed our music and we even had some dancers to join us.

I leave you some photos of the day, and also a couple of lovely photos from our recent wedding performance at Emily and Richard’s wedding.

Wedding at Cripps Barn and Marlow

This weekend we had another 2 lovely weddings. First one was an afternoon set during the reception wedding of Fergus and Jennifer at the lovely Cripps Barn in the Cotswolds. I drove pass the beautiful village of Bibury, in my opinion one of the prettiest in England.

It was a lovely sunny day, so I played outside the terrace while the guests enjoyed some canapés and drinks. Let me thank Cripps Barn staff for being very flexible and allowing me to set up my equipment outside (Some venues are very strict with license regulations).

The second wedding was in a house in Marlow, Buckinghamshire. Mel and Ali prepared a wonderful setting for another one to remember. This one we performed as a trio, and the crowd was fantastic. I leave you some pictures and Mel’s email giving us his kind feedback:

“Hello Javier

Well what can I say? You and your colleagues absolutely set the seal on a wonderful Wedding day and made it absolutely perfect.
Everyone has been saying positive things about you and how you created the perfect party atmosphere, which is exactly what we wanted. The mix of musical genres you cover are incredible and you make all of them sound authentic.
Thanks for playing the numbers we asked for and for also extending to a third set. I know it was a long tiring day for you all, so I really do appreciate it.”

A good band will change your wedding, forever

Now that the wedding season is in full swing, and Los Amigos are busy traveling up and down, I don’t get tired of recommending to hire good live entertainment for your Wedding, Birthday party or celebration. We just came back from Cambridge where we played for a party. In this case this was a lovely group of guests in their 60s. After a few of our songs we realised that they were not so keen on the Spanish numbers, so we slowed down the pace, and started playing some mid tempo songs, the Beatles, Neil Diamond, Lionel Richie, the Monkees, some other balads and happy tunes that immediately made them fill the dance floor.

A good band will read the audience, will adapt their repertoire to the situation.
Today I received a text from someone who saw us perform in a wedding 2 years ago, enquiring for us to play at their wedding. It amazes me that people will remember you, and will mention that this or that wedding or party was amazing, with so much help from the band.

You may have relatives or friends from far away, people you may not have seen in many years, and you will not have more than 5 min to speak to some of them. But there is something that will unite everyone on that day, the memories you share, and will completely change the whole day feeling – the music.

You may think I’m exaggerating. But is pure experience. Is what I see again and again. Because we are from “outside” the event, we can see things in a different way, and believe me when I say that the band and live entertainment is so important. I have seen couples spent 3 or 4 times more money in flowers and decorations than in the entertainment. I mean, is great that you pay attention to this details, they are important and is enjoyable, but people won’t remember that bunch of lilies, or that table decoration, people will specially remember the FOOD and the BAND! Don’t you notice how a song can be forever linked to our emotions, memories and feelings of a single moment?

Having this in mind, if you have a budget of £20k for your Wedding, would you say that £2k is a lot of money for entertainment? That’s very reasonable for a DJ and a band for example.
You don’t need to spend lots of money in entertainment, you can have games and activities throughout the day that won’t cost a penny. But you will most probably have a band – make sure is a good one, with good reviews and quality media, maybe even you can go and check them out live somewhere before you book.

Wikipedia says “Entertainment is a form of activity that holds the attention and interest of an audience, or gives pleasure and delight”
Oh Yeah

Wine Tasting at Glaziers Hall

Thank you for a lovely evening at Glaziers Hall, in London Bridge, where Los Amigos trio performed an entertaining set for the guests at a wine tasting session, Spanish music and wine is always a great combination!

50th Birthday at High Rocks

A wonderful celebration in a lovely setting, the wonderful venue of High Rocks near Tunbridge Wells, where Lisa booked us to play at her 50th Birthday with all her family and friends.

We played a nice set while the guests were mingling and then we got everyone on their feet for another set after the buffet, just before the DJ.

Lisa sends us her compliments:

” Hi Javier, thank you so much to you and the guys for a really amazing evening on Sunday. You really did make the night so special for me and so many people commented on how brilliant the band was. You certainly got everyone up dancing and the atmosphere was fabulous. It was great to see you again and I am sure we will see you at an event again in the future. I wonderful evening and honestly can’t thank you all enough. Much Love, Lisa. X”
