Chris & Amanda, and Gerry’s 50th

This weekend we performed at the lovely wedding of Chris & Amanda at Mythe Barn in Leicestershire. The wedding had a Spanish / Mexican theme, colourful “sombreros” and games for the guests, a vintage popcorn cart,  and delicious chicken burritos served by the venue’s catering in the evening. We had lots of fun and the bride’s mum Glynis sent us this lovely message:

“I would like to say a big thank you for performing at our daughters wedding at Mythe Barn on Friday 19/5/17. You were amazing. Everyone had a wonderful time and absolutely loved you guys. The staff at the barn said it was one of the best wedding’s to be held there. I will recommend you to anyone looking for a great band that can get a party started and continue to keep them on the dance floor all night. Thank you once again. xx ”

On Saturday we headed south, and after a brief stop at Warwick for lunch, we continued our travel to Chippenham to perform at Gerry’s 50th. She prepared a big marquee and catering in the garden, and although the day started wet with pouring rain, it didn’t dampen our spirits, and together with the 100 assisting guests we had an unforgettable evening of music and dancing!

This is the lovely feedback from Gerry:

Dear Javier and the rest of the band,

Wow, wow, wow! I had such a brilliant 50th party on Saturday … I couldn’t have wished for anything better. Thank you all so much for making it such a fantastic evening, you really got the party atmosphere going, and kept everyone up and dancing all night. It was such an easy process dealing with you guys, from the first time I contacted Mark at Stormont, I will definitely recommend you to any and everyone! I’ve had so many people commenting on how great the music was and what a great party is was, so I have passed your cards on to them as well as the caterers and tent people too. Thanks again guys – you were top notch!

With best wishes

Gerry”

Alexa & Brendan birthday party

It was Alexa’s 60th birthday, and her husband Brendan decided to giver her a surprise, with most of her closer friends and family at the secret bar in St Martins Lane Hotel, in the centre of London. Lovely cocktails and drinks awaited the party, and Brendan chose Los Amigos band to entertain the guests, as Alexa loves Spanish, Latin and Brazilian music. As the couple have a house in Marbella, Los Amigos quartet was the perfect choice to celebrate, and we didn’t disappoint.

Lots of dancing and laughter as the evening advanced, we created an electrifying atmosphere and made everyone dance. After our set, the DJ continued the party.

Patrick & Emma’s Wedding in Bermondsey 4-3-17

A low key Wedding in a cosy Bermondsey pub, we had a great time performing for Patrick and Emma’s wedding guests. Here we leave you some lovely pictures of our performance – thanks to fantastic photographers Laminas and Juliet, check them out at www.lovestruckphoto.co.uk

Volare – Swing version

We have done a swing version of this lovely song, performing as a trio with a laid back vibe.
Recorded by Italian singer-songwriter Domenico Modugno, and Written by Franco Migliacci and Domenico Modugno, it was released as a single on 1 February 1958.
The song is a ballad in a dramatic chanson style, in which Modugno describes the feeling he has, which resembles flying when with his lover.
It has been recorded by many artists, such Dean Martin, David Bowie, and the Gipsy Kings (a version we also play in our live performances)
We hope you enjoy it!

Your favourite band

As the first signs of Spring arrive we are now receiving many enquiries and confirming performances for Weddings, Summer parties, Birthdays and celebrations. The weekends of the April-August are starting to fill up, with 25 performances already booked. Enquiries coming from Ibiza, Valencia and France give a bit of extra excitement, but we just love all gigs!

Meanwhile we have just recorded 2 new tracks, and the videos are being edited. We recorded a very nice Latin version of “All of Me” by John Legend that sounds great, and also “Smooth” by Santana which is already a classic in our repertoire.

As soon as they are ready, we will post them in our blog!

Don’t forget to book the band in advance whenever possible, although we always have some last minute slots, and contact us at info@losamigosband.co.uk for availability and prices.

Party for Monarch Airlines

This week Los Amigos Quartet performed at a lovely party for some crew members of Monarch Airlines, at the Cotswolds Water Park and Conference Centre.
With a Spanish Theme, Los Amigos were perfect for the occasion, and entertained the mostly female audience while they enjoyed some food, and later we got everyone dancing and warm up the party for the DJ!

On the same week, on another event we also performed for the Birthday party of Marella Oppenheim, at the wonderful Italian restaurant San Lorenzo in Beauchamp Place, Knightsbridge. We leave you with some photos of the events.

NYEve at Camino Blackfriars

Los Amigos Trio to perform for NYEve at the beautiful Camino in Blackfriars. The restaurant is located close to St. Pauls Cathedral, with exposed brick and Spanish poster decor in cool, modern tapas bar serving regional dishes and wines.

Camino, founded by Spanish lover Richard Bigg, offers delicious tapas, and it’s Executive Chef, Nacho del Campo, uses top quality, seasonal ingredients to create bold, fresh and exciting dishes.

The evening is already SOLD OUT weeks before the event.

Knightsbridge Circle Christmas party on board the Dixie Queen Boat

Los Amigos 5 piece band performed for His Excellency Ghassan I. Shaker and the Knightsbridge Circle on board the beautiful Dixie Queen Boat in the Tower Pier at the Thames, London.

It was a lovely evening with distinguished guests, canapés, champagne and the Spanish and Latin music of the band helped to create a festive mood throughout the evening.

Businessman, banker, industrialist and diplomat, His Excellency Ghassan Ibrahim Shaker figures among the most highly decorated personalities from the Arab world, and he is a lover of Spanish and Latin music, so he greatly enjoyed the boleros and romantic numbers of the band, as well as the Gipsy Kings danceable songs.

Ham Yard Hotel, Soho 5/11/16

Lucy’s 50th was a great celebration at the wonderful and classy Ham Yard Hotel, in Soho, London. The bowling Alley was used for a great evening of entertainment, and Los Amigos 5 piece band was the choice for the dancing time. A guitar duo performed while the guests arrived, and the full and played a 1 hour set that got everyone dancing and enjoying the wonderful sound and lighting of the evening organised by the production team.

We performed a mix of Spanish and Latin hits, and some English music too, such All night Long, Get lucky, Can’t take my eyes out of you, and many more. The Dj kept the party going until late.

We leave you with some photos and a short clip of the evening.
